Varsity Volleyball Game Report
Woburn vs. Salem
10/2/17
The Tanners have now won four consecutive games 3-0.  Salem looked to be no match as the Tanners destroyed them in just about every area of the game.  On the first set the Tanners showed why they were 8-1 going into Monday as they won 25-9. They used this first set as a major confidence booster and would never look back as the second set was another blowout 25-12.  The third set was the closest although it too ended in favor of the Tanners.  Salem showed that they were not going to go down without a fight but in the end the third set ended in a 25-14 Tanners win. The Tanners will need to bring the momentum of their win streak into Tuesday as they face an 8-0 Winchester.  This will easily be the biggest game of the season as the rivalry will be at high point once more.  Although Winchester is undefeated, both teams match up extremely well. The difference maker may be the fact that the game is at Woburn.  Another factor that may give Woburn the edge is that Winchester is coming off a game against Arlington in which they went a full five sets and all of them besides the first one was a nail biter, but in the end Winchester pulled it out. They may not think that they can just blow past everyone and become undefeated after a game like that.
